BPI Foundation to help City of Manila become climate, disaster resilient

BPI Foundation, the social development arm of the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), recently adopted the City of Manila under the “Sustainable Cities: Adopt-A-City” program, in partnership with the National Resilience Council (NRC), Carlos P. Romulo Foundation for Peace and Development Inc. (CPRF), and the city government of Manila to help transform the national capital into an empowered, disaster-resilient, and sustainable city.

The program aims to strengthen the scientific knowledge, leadership, and governance capacities of the local government unit to potentially achieve human, economic, and environmental resilience, and sustainable development, one city at a time. Reinforcing its mission to be an agent of sustainable positive change to underserved Filipino communities, especially those ravaged by natural calamities, BPI Foundation will fund the three-year program that will benefit around 1.78 million local residents.
