Earlier this year, the National Resilience Council, with support from the Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. and Pilmico, conducted the CDRA workshop and the Resilience 101 training for the City of Iligan. Subsequently, a series of meetings took place, involving discussions with its academic partner (AP), MSU-IIT, to identify the training requirements for both the LGU and AP.
Last November 30 to December 1, a joint work programming and baselining session was held to set up and plan activities for the upcoming year. The Iligan City Resilience Council and MSU-IIT actively participated in this collaborative effort.
The Adopt-A-City Initiative of the NRC involves engaging key private sector partners in supporting the 3-year Leadership for Resilient LGU Program, which aims to strengthen the leadership and governance capacities of local government units (LGUs) to achieve human, economic, infrastructure, and environmental resilience.
