Distinguished leaders representing a whole-of-society approach to resilience graced the 2025 Resilient LGU Colloquium. Leading the event were Chairman Hans T. Sy, Co-Chair for the Private Sector of the NRC, and Chairman of SM Prime Holdings and Asec Bernardo Rafaelito R. Alejandro IV, Civil Defense Deputy Administrator for Administration, representing Hon. Gilberto “Gibo” Teodoro, Co-Chair for the Government of the NRC. Undersecretary Marilou G. Erni represented Secretary Maria Toni Yulo-Loyzaga of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
Joining them were VAdm. Alexander P. Pama, NRC Resilience Adviser and Board Member of ARISE Global; Mr. Austere A. Panadero, NRC Vice-Chair for CSOs and President of the Zuellig Family Foundation; and Fr. Jose Ramon T. Villarin, SJ, NRC Vice-Chair for Academe and Scientific Institutions and Director of the Manila Observatory.
Additionally, Undersecretary Marlo L. Iringan of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) served as a panelist. Secretary Renato Solidum, Jr. of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) provided closing remarks via video recorded message. Executive Director Mr. Silvestre Z. Barrameda, Jr. was also present to launch the NRC’s Competency Assessment (COMPASS) Tool, reinforcing the council’s commitment to strengthening resilience through capacity building. Professor Jessica Dator Bercilla, NRC Resilient Fellow, hosted the event.
