LOOK: Climate Change Commission PH, National Resilience Council signs Memorandum of Agreement for Philippine Resilience Awards
Last September 27, 2023, the National Resilience Council (NRC) signed the Memorandum of Agreement with the Climate Change Commission of the Philippines (CCC) to formalize its partnership for the Philippine Resilience Awards: Category for Women (PRA Women).
Commissioner Rachel Herrera of CCC expressed her support to the partnership and the recognition of women, ”We hope to give recognition on exemplary women taking leadership in climate action, and as we do so, we aim to inspire more women to act and open more spaces and opportunities for women to decide, share insights and experiences, and take leadership roles.”
In his message, CCC Vice Chairperson and Executive Director Robert E.A. Borje affirmed the Commission’s dedication as a partner and advocate hopeful for a gender-inclusive climate policy. He also stated CCC’s ultimate goal – “to uplift the lives, livelihoods, and future of every Filipino: buhay, kabuhayan, at kinabukasan ng bawat Pilipino.”
NRC’s Executive Director Silvestre Z. Barrameda Jr. voiced his hope for the awards, “Philippine Resilience Awards for Women go beyond mere recognition. This will surely become a source of inspiration and a catalyst for change.
The awarding ceremony of Philippine Resilience Awards for Women will be held on October 12, 2023 in SMX Convention Center, Pasay City.
