Through the framework of the Making Cities Resilient 2030 (MCR2030) initiative, the National Resilience Council (NRC), the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR), and ARISE Philippines successfully concluded the Training of Trainers on Urban Resilience and the Disaster Resilience Scorecard for Cities, held in Incheon, South Korea from 7 to 10 April 2026.
The program strengthened the capacities of local government units and stakeholders through key urban resilience frameworks and tools, including climate resilience, early warning systems, social inclusion, and private sector engagement.
Delegates from Philippine cities and academic institutions—including Tiwi, Bataan, Manila, and Iloilo City—shared knowledge and best practices, highlighting the value of collaboration in advancing disaster risk reduction and achieving Sustainable Development Goal 11.
Driven by this shared commitment, the MCR2030 partnership continues to empower cities worldwide to create safer, more resilient, and sustainable urban futures.
