In celebration of National Disaster Resilience Month, the National Resilience Council (NRC) proudly participated in the Cordillera Regional DRRM Summit and Expo 2026, reaffirming its commitment to advancing disaster resilience through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation.

During the summit, the NRC highlighted its partnership with Baguio City through the Adapt-A-City (AAC) Program, showcasing collaborative initiatives that have strengthened community resilience and demonstrated the value of multi-sector partnerships in disaster risk reduction and climate action.

The summit gathered representatives from national government agencies, local government units, the private sector, development partners, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to strengthen collaboration in advancing disaster resilience across the Cordillera. It served as a platform to enhance knowledge, build capacities, and promote people-centered, inclusive, and climate-responsive Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) and Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation (CCAM) initiatives.

Representing the private sector and civil society, the NRC also presented the Resilient Local Government System Scorecard (RLGSS)—a comprehensive assessment and planning tool that enables local governments to evaluate their resilience, identify strengths and gaps, and prioritize actions to strengthen their resilience capacities.

The presentation generated strong interest from several cities and provinces across the Cordillera, with local government representatives expressing their intent to partner with the NRC and adopt the RLGSS to support their resilience-building efforts.

Together, we continue to empower local governments, strengthen communities, and build a more resilient Philippines.
