Bridging Leadership for Climate and Disaster Resilience: Executive Session for Governors (Part 2)

Last June 5, the National Resilience Council Foundation, Inc. (NRF), in partnership with Alinea Philippines and with support from the Government of Canada, conducted the Bridging Leadership Program for Climate and Disaster Resilience (BL-CDR) – Executive Session for Governors (Part 2).

The session highlighted each province’s resilience vision, current realities, and strategic directions toward building a safer and more sustainable future. Through meaningful dialogue and shared perspectives, the governors discussed the unique climate and disaster resilience challenges within their provinces, as well as their ongoing initiatives and long-term aspirations to strengthen local resilience.

The session brought together Hon. Jose Enrique M. Miraflores of Aklan, Hon. Erico Aristotle C. Aumentado of the Provincial Government of Bohol, Hon. Rogelio Neil Roque of the Provincial LGU Bukidnon, Hon. Raul G. Mabanglo of the Provincial Government of Davao de Oro, Hon. James S. Edduba of the Province of Kalinga and Hon. Sharee Ann T. Delos Santos of Samar, who shared their insights, challenges, and commitments in advancing resilient communities.

NRF has captured remarkable statements and key insights from the governors’ discussions. We invite you to explore these reflections below and consider how these lessons can be adapted to your own province or community in shaping a resilience vision that protects lives, strengthens systems, and creates a safer and more sustainable future for the next generations.

Because resilience begins with a shared vision—and the actions we take today will define the communities of tomorrow.
