The National Resilience Council (NRC) partnered with Galing Pook in celebrating and recognizing outstanding local innovations that strengthen disaster resilience and climate adaptation across the Philippines. As part of the recognition, NRC conferred a Special Citation for Resilience, highlighting initiatives that demonstrate innovative, inclusive, and sustainable approaches to building safer and more resilient communities. NRC also joined fellow government agencies, private sector partners, and other organizations in supporting the selection and recognition of this year’s outstanding awardees.
Among the distinguished awardees are NRC partner Local Government Units (LGUs) whose innovative initiatives demonstrate how local solutions can create meaningful impact: Baguio City Public Information Office for Project Denguerra – War on Dengue and Iloilo City Government for the Iloilo City Action and Resilience (ICARE) Center: Decentralizing Risk Governance.
These achievements demonstrate that resilience is built through innovation, collaboration, and sustained action at the local level. The initiatives of our LGU partners show how communities can turn challenges into opportunities to create safer, more adaptive, and more sustainable cities and provinces.
To all the Galing Pook awardees across the Philippines, congratulations! Your dedication and innovative solutions continue to inspire communities and contribute to a more resilient nation. May you continue to create, innovate, and lead initiatives that help our people thrive amid risks and challenges—toward a more resilient and sustainable Philippines.
