The National Resilience Council Foundation (NRF), together with partners from the UNDP Philippines and the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), recently participated in a productive workshop in Pangasinan under the SHIELD Programme.

Key discussions focused on Value Chain Analysis to identify priority commodities for local development, as well as the advancement of SAMABAYANIHAN, a multistakeholder platform promoting a whole-of-society approach to resilience.

Participants from government, private sector, academe, and civil society came together to align efforts toward building resilient, safe, and thriving communities with sustainable livelihoods.

Workshop outputs highlighted the proposed creation of a Provincial Resilience Council through an Executive Order and ordinance, ensuring a more inclusive, coordinated, and future-ready governance structure.

Together, we move forward in strengthening systems, empowering communities, and building a more resilient Pangasinan.
