Last November 11, the Province of Bataan proudly recognized the Top 14 Barangays that successfully accomplished the Barangay Resilience Building Scorecard (BRBS) under the Adapt Phase — a gamified version of the Resilient Local Government System Scorecard (RLGSS) for Cities and Provinces. Bataan is the first province among all LGUs implementing the BRBS, and it is now on its second year of rollout.
Fourteen outstanding barangays were awarded and received monetary support. Among them, the Top 3 were recognized as the leading implementers. For the third spot, there was a tie between Barangay Kataasan and Barangay Saysain. Placing second was Barangay Omboy. Finally, the top rank resulted in a triple tie among Barangay Balut I, Barangay Tabing Ilog, and Barangay East Calaguiman.
This achievement was made possible through the invaluable support of our outstanding academic partner, the Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU), whose expertise ensured a thorough and credible validation process.
The commitment and proactive efforts of these barangays reflect their strong capacity for resilience and dedication to building safer, more prepared communities. Their success is a testament to the power of collaboration between local government, academia, and the private sector.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Province of Bataan and BPSU for making this recognition possible — and to all the barangays who continue to lead with passion, purpose, and perseverance toward a more resilient future.
