ICYMI: The National Resilience Council (NRC) collaborated on the second iteration of the Annual Stakeholders Forum (ASF) of the SHIELD Programme last January 22, 2025, at the Marco Polo Hotel, Ortigas, Manila. The ASF was spearheaded by UNDP with the generous support of Australia in the Philippines, along with its consortium partners, CBCS, PBSP, and UN-Habitat, and government partners, DILG, DOST, and OCD.

The forum titled “Accelerating Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction Financing for Inclusive Resilience Actions” emphasized the importance of evidence-based, risk-informed, and inclusive resilience governance. This session also underscored the pivotal role of multistakeholder collaboration in unlocking resilience financing and fostering a collective  action towards climate and disaster resilience of communities, localities, and institutions.

This event also showcased key milestones of the SHIELD Programme– highlighting the concerted effort of the SHIELD Consortium to enkindle the unyielding dedication of partner LGUs and the active participation of SAMBAYANIHAN in building localized resilience.

The National Resilience Council plays an imperative role in the formation and institutionalization of a multi-stakeholder partnership (MSP) or SAMBAYANIHAN in key program areas as a critical platform for the advancement of localized strategies for climate and disaster resilience.

This concourse is a testament that multi-stakeholder collaboration among key sectors of society promulgates a mutually-shared vision for an inclusive and participatory resilience governance. Hence, we are called to action in strengthening the core ideals of public-private-people partnership towards a more Resilient Philippines.
