What do we have to lose? What do we stand to gain?

Last October 8, the National Resilience Council (NRC), together with ARISE Philippines and SM Supermalls, held a consultation meeting with the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) at their main office in Camp Aguinaldo to discuss and align the plan of action in case of a major seismic disaster. The meeting served as an important step toward strengthening partnerships and ensuring that plans remain responsive to the evolving needs of sustainable and disaster-ready cities.

Discussions highlighted the importance of harmonizing initiatives across government, private, and civil society sectors. By aligning strategies and developing shared frameworks, the partners aim to enhance coordination, strengthen operational readiness, and ensure that all sectors can effectively contribute to building resilience and advancing disaster preparedness.

Moving forward, the group is committed to developing a whole-of-society framework—one that fosters inclusivity, coherence, and collaboration. Together, NRC, ARISE Philippines, SM Supermalls, and OCD reaffirm their shared vision of creating safer, more sustainable, and future-ready communities.
