The PRA aims to honor resilience champions across various sectors and communities who have made significant contributions to disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation and mitigation—despite the complex and systemic challenges they face.
In this year’s edition, we proudly recognized three resilience champions in the Women’s Category and five in the Youth Category. Mr. Silvestre Barrameda Jr., Executive Director of the National Resilience Council (NRC), had the privilege of presenting the awards to the winners alongside Commissioner Rachel Anne S. Herrera of the Climate Change Commission (CCC).
This resilience initiative is a multistakeholder effort led by Senator Loren Legarda and supported by the Climate Change Commission, the Philippine Commission on Women, ARISE Philippines, SM Prime, and the Women’s International Network on DRR. We remain committed to supporting programs like the PRA and advancing initiatives that strengthen resilience and drive meaningful climate action toward a safer, more sustainable future.
