From October 28 to 31, the National Resilience Council (NRC) proudly participated in the 2025 International Training Workshop on Disaster Risk Reduction Innovation: Digitalized Disaster Governance in the AI Era.
The workshop highlighted the growing role of digital and smart technologies—including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Large Language Models (LLMs), Big Data Analytics, the Internet of Things (IoT), and Remote Sensing—in transforming disaster risk management. These technologies offer promising solutions for enhancing hazard monitoring, risk assessment, and overall disaster preparedness.
This global gathering served as a valuable platform for introducing and recognizing the vast capabilities of AI. Discussions emphasized how these intelligent systems can be powerful tools for innovation, empowering communities to build resilience and adapt to emerging challenges.
The event also fostered cross-national knowledge exchange, where participants shared practical experiences and insights into how different countries are integrating AI into disaster risk reduction efforts. This exchange of ideas strengthened global cooperation and promoted a culture of innovation and shared learning.
Truly, AI is more than just a tool for information and convenience—it is a powerful partner in creating safer, smarter, and more resilient communities around the world.
