MABAKUD ESTEHANON: Para ha Mas Mabakud nga

On September 15, 2025, stakeholders from Eastern Samar came together once again to reaffirm their commitment to building a resilient province. Eastern Samar has become a convergence point for climate and disaster resilience actors, as the province often stands on the front lines of disasters brought about by various hazards, especially typhoons.

The #MabakudEstehanon committee is a multi-stakeholder platform under the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC), which continues to take center stage in harmonizing efforts for climate and disaster resilience with a whole-of-society approach emphasizing participatory and consultative action.

With different players advocating for various causes (including Food Security, Just Energy Transition, Sexual and Reproductive Health, and Nature-Based Solutions), all aligned with resilience, the reconvening held at the PGO Conference Hall was more than just a meeting. It was a renewed call to action to strengthen policy support and deepen collaboration among all stakeholders.

A key highlight was the revisiting of the Resilient Local Government System Scorecard, a tool that helps track and contextualize the province’s resilience landscape. Stakeholders reviewed key indicators and aligned them with an updated Resilience Action Plan, ensuring collective accountability and targeted progress..
