Insights from the International Disaster Resilience Leaders Forum and UNDRR Training | Incheon, Republic of Korea
The National Resilience Council joined resilience leaders, policymakers, and local government representatives from across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and North America at the International Disaster Resilience Leaders Forum (IDRLF) held on September 29-30, 2025, in Incheon, Republic of Korea, organized by UNDRR, Incheon Metropolitan City, and the Incheon Institute.
The forum advanced international cooperation for achieving the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (2015–2030), highlighting the role of Resilience Hubs, city-to-city collaboration, innovative resilience financing, and community-based networks in strengthening local disaster and climate resilience.
The participation was followed by the UNDRR Training on Tools for DRR and Urban Local Resilience, which introduced practical approaches on heat risk management, climate adaptation planning, and financing resilience initiatives at the local level.
These global exchanges will inform NRC’s continuing work with local governments and partners in promoting evidence-informed, inclusive, and multi-level risk and resilience governance across the Philippines.
