The League of Corporate Foundations (LCF), a network of over 90 corporate foundations in the Philippines dedicated to advancing strategic and sustainable corporate social responsibility (CSR), marked its 30th anniversary under the theme “Adapt, Align, Accelerate.” As part of this milestone celebration, LCF successfully held its first CSR Convention in Cebu on February 4–5, bringing together leaders and practitioners committed to strengthening development impact across sectors.
In line with its mission to advance resilience and sustainability, the National Resilience Council (NRC) participated in the convention through the contributions of its Executive Director, Mr. Silvestre Z. Barrameda Jr., together with Dr. Emma E. Porio and NRC Resilience Fellow Engr. Dex Lo. The NRC delegation shared insights and practical approaches to strengthening community and institutional capacities to better withstand, adapt to, and recover from climate and disaster risks.
The Council emphasizes that communities cannot afford to keep rebuilding what disasters repeatedly destroy. While short-term investments may provide temporary relief, they do not break the cycle of risk. The NRC promotes resilient and sustainable investments that reduce vulnerabilities before disasters strike and empower communities to bounce forward—not just bounce back. The time to act is now, and transforming risk into resilience requires collective commitment.
Through engagements such as this convention, the NRC continues to champion collaboration, innovation, and knowledge-sharing in pursuit of resilient and sustainable communities—where stakeholders work hand in hand to address climate and disaster challenges and build a safer, more secure future for all.
