The APMCDRR2024 Partner Event titled, “From Science to Action: Transforming the Local Governance landscape in the Philippines,” highlighted the role of Project  TRANSFORM in fostering a whole-of-society approach in disaster risk reduction (DRR) through science and technology (S&T) and local and traditional knowledge in informing policy and practice.

This objective was further substantiated by esteemed organizers, moderator, resource speakers and reactors who underscored the importance of multi-sectorality, collaboration, and partnerships, and transformative processes to address underlying causes of risks to empower localities and communities in achieving climate and disaster resilience.

The session ended with a signing of the memorandum of agreement (MOA) with new implementing partners for Project TRANSFORM– expanding its partnership for resilience.

This program is organized by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), National Resilience Council (NRC), First Philippine Holdings Corporation (FPH), Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), Peace and Equity Foundation (PEF), Zuellig Family Foundation (ZFF), Provincial Government of Bataan, Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) United Nations Asia Science Technology Academic Advisory Group, and APEC Emergency Preparedness Capacity Building Center.
