LOOK: DENR, NRC held Workshop for the Formulation of Project TRANSFORM Framework for Rizal
On January 24, 2024, various stakeholders coming from different private sector partners, academic institutions, and civil society organizations together with the local government units of Antipolo, Baras, Rodriguez, San Mateo, and Tanay of the Province of Rizal gathered to develop an inclusive and responsive set of interventions to actively engage the government, business sector, academe and CSOs.
With the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) at the helm of organizing stakeholders to establish a partnership for resilience and environmental sustainability, it establishes a platform for the LGUs and stakeholders to respond to its goal of ecological integrity and improved socio-economic conditions in their identified Project TRANSFORM areas.
The participants went through workshops facilitated by the National Resilience Council (NRC), that initially identified their resilience priorities through their most significant ecosystem resilience change derived from the resilience agenda developed in previous sessions and roundtable discussions.
This was developed further to a more actionable set of interventions complete with outputs, activities, timeline, resource requirements, and sources of funds for implementation of Project TRANSFORM in Rizal.
The province of Rizal is part of the NRC’s Project TRANSFORM which integrates the resilience and sustainability program of the DENR and engages the whole-of-society approach in implementing programs to alleviate poverty, enhance community resilience, and promote public-private partnerships.
